She had assumed that she wouldn't ever own one because of how hard they are to come by.Īnyway, that being said, use sites like ABEBOOKS, and EBAY and their services that notify you when copies become available. I can tell you that the person I bought it for was thrilled that she (yes, she) even got a copy. One of those was a library copy that I bought last year around this time for like 25 bucks, and although it was clearly worn and well read, it was not in horrible condition and certainly readable by anyone's standards. Now that I think of it, I have purchased 5 copies all together of this book 3 for me and 2 for a couple of very good friends of mine who later went on to become "afficionados" of Thomas Ligotti's works. It's also a recognition on my part that I still feel like I could use another copy in case something happened to the first three, which clearly borders on the pathological. It's more of a recognition of the appreciation of the book on your part, even from afar, and of the value of this highly sought after collection. I am by no means writing this to rub in the fact that I have three copies of TNF.
